Obama

This commissioned piece has been sold to a private collector in Maryland. President Obama: A Celebration in Art Quilts was likely the first and only public showing of this art quilt.

It's a New Day
2009 - 50" x 54" finished size

President Obama: A Celebration in Art Quilts, was a D.C. area exhibit organized by Sue Walen, February 9 - March 5, 2009n in The Cafritz Foundation Art Center at Montgomery College, Silver Spring, MD campus. Exhibit pieces came from an all volunteer, grassroots multi-ethnic collection of fiber artists from across the U.S. and from as far away as Australia. Our work is a tribute to our new President, in gratitude for the hope and inspiration he has brought us.
