Details

  1. All FabricPlate™ items are designed by Debra Gabel and available exclusively from Zebra Patterns. Uniform materials, design and print quality of all products associated with Row by Row are critical to preserve and promote Row by Row and reward Shop and Quilter participation. Imagine the impact of negative social network posts reporting shoddy event-related merchandise.
  2. Images provided to Shop in the proofing process are solely for web and in-store promotional purposes.  Shop may not reproduce or subcontract reproduction of FabricPlate™ items or plate image elements for sale.
  3. The plates are printed on 100% organic sateen cotton. Great color and sateen finish. Wash only on delicate cycle, warm or cool, and with phosphate free detergent. This instruction is printed on all FabricPlate™ packaging.
  4. The cut cotton panel measures approximately 8.25" x 4.5", with the actual plate measuring approximately 7.25" x 3.5".
  5. Plates are individually packaged retail-ready in a 6" x 9" ziploc crystal clear bag with hang-hole and instruction insert.
  6. Shop first reserves phrase(s); followed by receiving and approving a proof. There is no charge for proofing through 3/31/15. There is a $25 proof charge 4/1/15 and after. Ordering FabricPlate™ items is a separate step completed by the Shop at its conveneience.
  7. Each state plate has a common “H2O” water theme, Bobbin the Robin mascot and layout/type style for state name, vanity phrase, shop name and city.
  8. Vanity phrases cannot be duplicated in the current year within a state. Phrase reservations are first-come-first serve and time stamped when received by Zebra Patterns.
  9. Prior year's phrase held for repeat Shop through 1/15/15.
  10. In addition to the unique 15 character - including spaces - vanity phrase, Shop can upload a Custom Graphic file with the phrase reservation. Custom Graphic usually takes one to three characters. There is a $25 charge for including a Custom Graphic.
  11. Shop is responsible for accurate spelling and spacing for each reservation including the phrase, Shop name and city. To minimize the risk of errors these reservation elements are copied/pasted from the reservation form. We only modify upper/lower case of type to conform with the FabricPlate™ style shown in sample above.
  12. Zebra Patterns reserves the right not to proof/produce phrases with offensive content.
  13. The Shop is responsible to insure that its phrase does not infringe on copyright or trademark protection.
  14. Approval of proof is final.
  15. Pricing and quantity increments are explained clearly at the on-line store. Access to the on-line store is included in proof and proof approval emails sent to the Shop via email.
  16. Other than the DISPLAY panel SKU, the ordering increment is 48 plates. Each three lot purchase of a common phrase – 144 plates – earns 12 free plates, for a total of 156.

New for 2015
  1. For 2015 we’ve developed a completely new and much improved system for reserving phrases - separated from the purchase of FabricPlate™ items - proofing, ordering and shipping.
  2. The new system has been running well since Fall Market, and now includes the opportunity for Shops to view the order history for each phrase/plate/DISPLAY, in addition to the transaction emails that occur each step of the way. See the link at the NEW Shop Tools page menu.
  3. We are also posting a visual directory of Shops and plates, sorted by State/Province and Zip/Postal Code to assist Quilters planning travel to conveniently visit as many RxRE Shops as possible. Check it out.

FAQ's and Tips for 2015
  1. VANITY PHRASES that are your "shop name" have proven NOT to sell as well as generic fun Quilting Phrases. For example "SUSAN'S QUILT SHOP" will not sell as well as "FABRICHOLIC" or "LUV MY STASH", etc. Shop Name and City are automatically on the plate per sample at top of page.
  2. SPACES help phrase read better. For ample: ILUV2QLT will read better as I LUV 2 QLT. Spaces count in 15 character MAXIMUM. Fewer characters looks and reads much better.
  3. How many should you order? It is very hard to say. We recommend connecting with Shops that have ordered last year or getting advice from your State Coordinator.
  4. What do FabricPlate™  items cost? The email we send to you with proof - and also in response to Shop approval - includes link to the on-line store. Visit that link any time, even before ready to order, for a full picture of cost, SKU's and the ordering process.
  5. When can the Shop start selling plates? Row by Row Experience belief/recommendation/guideline is that plates should not be sold before 5/15/15. To do so earlier - or even anytime before 6/21/15 - when the FabricPlate™ is just one of many program elements designed to motivate profitable in-store Summer traffic, is not in the Shop's best interest.
  6. What is a DISPLAY PANEL? See top of this page for example. It is a fat quarter sized piece that decorates the Shop and promotes the Row by Row Experience wherever you are - Guild events, vending shows, etc. - the first six months of 2015 and right through the Summer.
  7. Why is the Shop's credit card charged on the order date rather than when shipped? These are custom products made expressly for the Shop per the Shop's specifications and approval, Not unlike when we recently ordered a new outer storm door for our home and had to pay for it as soon as the installer came out to measure, and HD had specs with which to order the door from the factory.
  8. Why does my Square Market order confirmation email show it will take 60 days to ship? Shops often reserve their phrase and then place their order on the same day. It takes a couple of days to prepare the proof, and based on 2014 experience some Shops were very slow to approve the proof. A major difference to this year's order system is that at 60 days the order expires and money is refunded to the buyer - automatically. It would be an administrative nightmare to be dealing with that situation due to delayed Shop approvals.
  9. Should the Shop repeat last year's phrase or go with a new one?
  • Not an easy question and seems that each Shop is approaching this uniquely.
  • Our general thought has been that keeping things fresh is always a good idea. How many Customers from 2014 are going to want to purchase the same phrase, even with different plate graphics? Think water!
  • On the other hand, 2013 Shops that repeated their phrase in 2014 did well with plate sales too as the number of Quilters participating in the event grew along with their returning Customers.
  • Some Shops are managing this by keeping an old phrase - minimum quantity, and if still available after 1/15/15 - and adding a new one on another plate, especially if they sold out of the 2014 phrase and had Customers looking for it.
  • Hope this is helpful to stimulate some thinking. You know your Customer profile and traffic better than anyone else.
